It comes as no surprise that Peter Gabriel has once again handed up something compelling. "Digging In the Dirt" is excellent in itself, even using the music as part of the metaphor; the instrumental mix is a great rethink, "Quiet Steam" is fascinating, and "Bashi-Bazouk" is hypnotic, compelling and beautiful. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
