On this 55-minute collection of 21 interviews with the Beatles, conducted between July 1963 and March 1964, many by the BBC, the group members discuss their fame during a period when they were becoming much more famous. The interviewers catch up with them on tour in Sweden, Ireland, England, France, and, finally, the U.S. for the February 1964 British Invasion, which takes up 10 of the selections. The pieces range from quiet backstage remarks to the kind of humorous material later heard on The Beatles Live At the BBC and reports on Beatlemania, complete with thousands of screaming fans and the irrepressible Murray the K. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
