The combination of composer Danny Elfman and director Tim Burton may well go down in cinema history as a pairing as perfectly matched as Hitchcock and Herrmann or Fellini and Rota -- Elfman's score to Burton's sci-fi satire Mars Attacks! captures the film's gleeful malice to perfection, both evoking and re-inventing the music of McCarthy-era alien invasion B-movies with postmodernist aplomb. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
