It's True! It's True Review

Cosby's last album for Warner Bros. was recorded during a musician's strike in Lake Tahoe, a situation that opened up some extra stage time for Cosby to fill. Rather than write additional material for these extra slots, Cosby chose to wing it instead. Because of that, the material wanders a bit more than on some of his other albums, and he tends to repeat some bits from previous albums (notably, a whole section from "The Apple" reappears here in "It's the Women's Fault"). Most of the rambling is good-natured and still pretty funny, something that can't be said for Cos' other ad-libbed album from 1969, Bill Cosby: 8:15 12:15. The highlight is undoubtedly the extended piece on traveling to foreign countries and the inevitable culture clashes that result. ~ Sean Carruthers, All Music Guide
