The MuchMusic Video Awards are set to take over downtown Toronto on June 17 with West Coast bands like Marianas Trench and Hedley leading the nominations this year along with Toronto's very own, Drake.

"I'm thinking that Hedley is going to dominate this year," MuchMusic VJ Lauren Toyota exclusively told Yahoo! Canada Music during yesterday's live announcement. "Their album is fantastic and they deserve all of these awards because they put a lot of work and creativity into their videos especially."

Hedley is currently tied with Drake for five nominations each and appearing in categories like Pop Video of the Year, UR Fave Artist or Group and the coveted, Video of the Year, among others. However, their tally is no match for Marianas Trench's seven nominations.

"They have the most nominations this year, but I don't think that they are going to get all seven," Toyota said. "I think they'll get at least five. My favourite video of

  • Inspiring Kelly Clarkson Video

An inspirational music video set to a Kelly Clarkson hit, made by the young leukemia patients at Seattle Children's Hospital, has taken the Internet by storm, thanks to a tweet from Kelly herself. And it's easy to understand why Kelly (and 1.4 million YouTube viewers, as of this writing) have been so emotionally moved by the clip, which manages to be both heartbreaking and joyful at the same time. As the ward's cancer-stricken children lip-synch and dance in their hospital rooms to "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" in the video, Kelly's lyrics take on poignant new meaning, as the pop song transforms from a simple breakup ode into a triumphant anti-cancer anthem.

The video, which is part of Seattle Children's creative arts program and was the idea of 22-year-old leukemia patient Chris Rumble, was uploaded to YouTube on May 6, and two days later, Kelly tweeted a link to it, raving: "Oh my goodness y'all have to see this! It's beautiful! I can't wait to visit these kids

"I think what's really amazing about the little ditties that Shanthi comes up with is musically, they really do have a beginning, a middle and an end," elephant keeper Debbie Flinkman says in the clip. "[The songs] have a repetitive part that might have some beat that you could actually follow to it and it has a big crescendo at the end and we all know there is going to be a crescendo. And, we wait and then we applaud and then we go back to work and it's just so enjoyable."
