Tim McGraw and Faith Hill: What Rumors? Couple Gives Touching Performance at ACM Awards

Just a few months ago, Nashville's favorite sweethearts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, found themselves fending off random rumors of divorce. The gossip seemed to come out of nowhere — after all, the pair are in the midst of a highly successful dual residency at Las Vegas's Venetian — but still, as the perplexed Hill said, "I don't know why 'happy' can't be a story."

The couple certainly did seem to answer all remaining skeptics with a touching performance at Sunday night's Academy of Country Music Awards, when McGraw was joined onstage unexpectedly by his wife to share a debut of his new single, "Meanwhile Back at Mama's."

The husband-and-wife team didn't sizzle — they merely exhibited tender warmth towards each other as they sang the song's lyrics, describing the simplicity and slow pace of a small-town upbringing. The result: pure sweetness. They even left the stage hand-in-hand.

For the record, both McGraw and Hill have never entertained any gossip regarding their 17-year-marriage. "Since the first week we were married [those rumors] have been out," McGraw noted back in November. "We don't even think about it."

"Meanwhile Back at Mama's" was released April 6, the same night as the ACM Awards. The song will appear on McGraw's new album, "Countdown to Sundown," slated for September. McGraw was one of the early winners at the 2014 ACM Awards, taking home the Video of the Year trophy for his clip "HIghway Don't Care."
