Axl Rose apologizes for his terrible punctuality: Other artists who are known for being late

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has built up a reputation for usually being late for shows over the years.

In 2011, the band even addressed the issue on their Facebook page writing, “Love it Hate it Accept it Debate it - You want 8 o'clock shows go find F-R-I-E-N-D-S or hit a cinema somewhere.. or you wanna be informed go catch the 10 o'clock news."

They also wrote, “This is Rock N' Roll! Treat yourself don't cheat yourself thinking you're gonna go to school or work or whatever you ‘normally’ do the next day.”

Now Rose is explaining the reasoning behind his tardiness to SPIN and is offering an apology to any offended fans.

“I'm not a 'punctual' type of person, never have been," the 51-year-old singer said in an email. "I apologize to anyone I've inconvenienced or put out in any way...The reasons have all been in one way or another show-related or having to do with those involved with the show in some fashion."

The “Welcome To The Jungle” hitmaker isn’t the only one who has been known to begin a show after its scheduled time.

Lauryn Hill
After starting a 2011 concert three hours late in Atlanta, fans booed the former Fugees frontwoman and left the venue before the show had finished. "They didn't walk out -- they stomped out!" an audience member told Vibe.

Rihanna
The “Stay” hitmaker earned a reputation for being late last year during her “777 Tour” where she traveled to seven countries to perform seven shows in seven days.

“Tours are big, complicated undertakings even when they’re not squeezing seven shows into seven days—but every show starts late,” Popdust’s Julieanne Smolinski wrote. “Sometimes by as much as two hours or more.”

This isn’t the first time the Barbadian beauty has been tardy as she also started a concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the Odyssey Arena an hour an 45 minutes behind schedule in 2011.

“BELFAST sorry for being so late 2nt,” she tweeted. “BIG SHOW!FIRST NIGHT!Things dont always run smoothly or as planned, but I dearly appreciate ur patience.”

Kanye West
The outspoken rapper once started a 2011 Brooklyn show three hours late and was also late during the 2008 Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., citing “elaborate stage” difficulties as the reason behind his tardiness. (He was suppose to start at 2:45 a.m. but didn’t until 4:25 a.m.)

If it takes you longer to set up your stage than your allotted time, maybe it’s a good idea to start subscribing to architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s theory of “less is more.”
