Five things we hope happen at the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards

The 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards are only two days away and as instructed, we have been saving our screams.

However, if any of these moments were to occur when Toronto’s biggest block party takes over on June 16, you can bet that we will all be emptying our scream reserve.

Will Taylor Swift perform with Ed Sheeran?
English singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran joined Taylor Swift as a supporting act on her “Red Tour” earlier this year. As it turns out, Toronto will see two "Red Tour" gigs at the Rogers Centre on June 14 and June 15, just before Sheeran heads to the MMVAs where he is scheduled to perform.

On the “Red Tour” the 22-year-old musician usually joins Swift on stage to sing their duet “Everything Has Changed.” We think that it would be an amazing surprise if the country/pop singer (who is also an MMVA presenter) made an appearance during Sheeran’s set.

Will Marianas Trench tops last year’s red carpet entrance?
Marianas Trench has shown up at the MMVAs in hamster balls, with a marching band, soaking in a hot tub and fighting ninjas. Last year, they arrived in a bouncy castle riding inflatable horses.

If lead singer Josh Ramsay’s tweets are any indication, this year is sure to knock our socks off!

Will Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger arrive together?
Both Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger’s rock band Nickelback have lengthy histories with the MMVAs. We hope that the couple with hit the red carpet together so that we can gaze at them and ask Lavigne about her new album and the couple's pending nuptials.

On Thursday, the pop/punk princess revealed that she has chosen to perform her new song “Here’s To Never Growing Up” at the MMVAs.

Will Down With Webster’s Twitter challenge comes true?
In June 12 tweet, MMVA performers Down With Webster challenged The Lonely Island to an interesting karaoke battle that we hope sees the light of day.

Our picks for the karaoke off are “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Amish Paradise” for The Lonely Island and “Smells Like Nirvana” for Down With Webster.

Will the crowd “Stompa” with Serena Ryder?
Toronto artist Serena Ryder gave an amazing and energetic performance of “Stompa” at the 2013 Juno Awards earlier this year and we hope that she preforms the tune again at this weekend’s MMVAs.

Imagine what it would look like to see the crowd at the corner of Queen St. and John St. “Stompa-ing” along with Ryder outside of MuchMusic headquarters. Epic.

Tune into Much on June 16 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT for the red carpet special and stick around for the MMVAs' main event at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
