Justin Timberlake to provide musical score for film “The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea”

Sorry fans of Justin Timberlake the singer. The musician is working on a new musical project but it has nothing to do with recording a new album.

In addition to being a talented musician, actor, fashion label founder and philanthropist, Justin Timberlake can now add composer to his ever-expanding list of credentials.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former *NSYNC member is set to compose the soundtrack and act as music supervisor for the upcoming film, "The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea."

The film, which stars "Dark Shadows'" Chloe Moretz, "P.S. I Love You's" Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Timberlake's fiancé, Jessica Biel, is currently in the stages of pre-production and will begin filming this fall.

Taking place in New Orleans, the story centres around the bond that forms after an architect named Henry (Morgan) agrees to help a young, quick-witted girl named Millie (Moretz) build a raft to cross the Atlantic Ocean after losing his wife (Biel) in an accident.

As Entertainment Weekly points out, this project will place Timberlake in the growing category of musicians who have turned composers and lent their musical expertise to the creation of film scores.

He will join the ranks of artists such as Daft Punk, Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, who won the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Original Score for his work in "The Social Network," in which Timberlake also starred.

But come on, Timberlake. We want a follow-up to "FutureSex/LoveSounds" please!
