Macklemore & Ryan Lewis help woman propose at concert

In December 2012, Danielle Renae got engaged to “the love of [her] life” -- and it wouldn’t have happened without the help of Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and their tour manager.

During a "The Heist" tour stop in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Sokol Auditorium, Macklemore invited Renae and her girlfriend up on stage after performing the pro-equality tune “Same Love.” What happened next was one of those moments you never want to forget.

“Baby, I bet you're wondering why you're on stage with me right now," Renae says in the clip after Macklemore hands her the microphone. “But in front of everyone, I wanted everyone here to know that this beautiful woman right here, is the love of my life. And as the love of my life, I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"

To say that the crowd went wild after Renae’s girlfriend said “Yes” to her proposal would be an understatement. The support continued online with viewer comments left on the clip like, “This is so beautiful. I wish you all the best for the future.”

Wrote another: “Nice! Wow, nice way to purpose! I hope you guys have a happy life together, no matter what people say, live a long happy and beautiful life.”

As Macklemore raps in the song, “And a certificate on paper isn't gonna solve it all / But it's a damn good place to start.”
