Robin Thicke Was Not So Hot 10 Years Ago

What a difference a haircut makes! Just ask Robin Thicke.

In decade-old photos that recently surfaced, the "Blurred Lines" singer rocks thick, wiry, shoulder-grazing locks reminiscent of Creed front man Scott Stapp (from his heyday back in the late '90s). The style features a bevy of face-framing layers up front and a whole lot of shine all around. In other words, Thicke put some real thought into this.

The star also had some shady facial hair going on that's just a little too close to counting as a bona fide mustache. And don't get us started on pajama-like button down shirts (worn open almost to the navel) and over-sized jackets.

A bright spot in the shots from 2003, however, is his longtime love and now-wife, Paula Patton. While she looks markedly more demure back then, her natural beauty is undeniably timeless. What's more, if she loved him back when he was sporting hair like that, she must really adore him.

Apparently, Robin's chop came shortly after he teamed up with Pharrell in 2005 to shoot the video for "Wanna Love U Girl." While it's unclear if Pharrell, who's known for his style, was the person to pull Thicke aside and let him know the flowing locks had to go, something tells us that might have been how it went down. In other words, Pharrell is more than just a gifted musician; he's a true friend.

Since then, Thicke has all but trademarked his clean-cut look of trimmed hair, white v-neck tees, and crisp, fitted blazers. It seems that these days the world adores his style as well as his sound, but we bet no ones appreciates the improvement more than Paula.
