Scott Disick pays tribute to ‘American Psycho’ for Kanye West’s new album

In a promotional clip for Kanye West’s new album “Yeezus” (out today), “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star Scott Disick channels Christian Bale’s character Patrick Bateman from the 2000 film “American Psycho.”

Disick, father to Kourtney Kardashian’s two children Mason and Penelope, is quite eerie as Bateman in the video, which also stars Kim Kardashian’s best friend Jonathan Cheban in the Paul Allen role (played by Jared Leto in the original film).

Instead of referencing Huey Lewis and the News, the “Yeezus” commercial features West references, such as having the rapper’s name on the prescription bottle and sourcing 2010’s “Dark and Twisted Fantasy” as the record where he “came into his own both musically and lyrically.”

“Kanye’s been compared to Jesus, Hitler, Walt Disney and even Steve Jobs,” Disick says in the video as he moonwalks behind Cheban, who notes that there are copies of Billboard magazine “all over the place” instead of the style section in the original scene.

The reality television star also calls West's new album his “most exciting record, so far” with the track “New Slaves” as the “undisputed masterpiece of ‘Yeezus,’ a song so catchy, most people won’t even remember the lyrics.”

Buzzfeed points out that along with releasing the clip on his website, West has also set up projections of himself performing “New Slaves” in addition to the “American Psycho” spot in over 30 cities.

For example, the map on KanyeWest.com shows that in Toronto, the projection was shown at places like Yonge St. and Gould St. at 10:30 p.m. and at 205 Queen St. at 12:30 a.m. on June 16, in addition to two more locations in the city, along with multiple spots in Montreal.
