Shaun White and his band Bad Things land a record deal

We’re use to seeing professional snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White winning Olympic gold medals and performing some crazy tricks on the slopes and in various skate parks. Now, we can look forward hearing some music from the pro athlete, as his band Bad Things recently singed a recording deal with Warner Brothers Records. According to Billboard, they will be debuting their album later in 2013.

The first song to be released is a track called “Caught Inside,” which Yahoo! Music reports takes its title “from a surfing term to describe the bruising effects of paddling out and becoming dangerously stuck between the shore and where waves break.”

Billboard notes that Bad Things is comprised of White (guitar) and his childhood friends Anthony Sanudo (guitar) and Lena Zawaideh (drums), along with new members Davis LeDuke (vocals) and Jared Palomar (bass).

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the 26-year-old athlete step out of the sports world and into the entertainment industry.

You might recall that he’s had gigs playing himself on television shows like “American Dad!” and “Go On,” in addition to his hilarious appearance in the 2011 Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake flick “Friends with Benefits.”
