MuchMusic Video Awards 2012: Best and worst performances of the past

This year, the MMVA stage will be taken over by performances from Kelly Clarkson, Hedley, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, LMFAO and many more. While we patiently wait for this weekend's awards show, lets relive some of the best and worst performances of the past.

BEST: Our Lady Peace — "Innocent"
In 2003, OLP's music video for "Innocent" took home the MMVA for Best Video. During their performance, fans sang along with the band as lead singer Raine Maida pulled an Eddie Vedder by climbing a lighting truss tower. It was also the last year that the band ever won an MMVA.

WORST: Miley Cyrus — "Party In The USA"
Doubling as host and performer at the 2010 MMVAs, Miley Cyrus showed us a little more than we wanted to see by performing in an outfit that left little to the imagination. It's worth mentioning that she was 17 years old at the time.

BEST: Beastie Boys — "Ch-Check It Out/Intergalactic"
Honoured with the Trailblazer Award at the 2004 MMVAs, the Beastie Boys performed their hits "Ch-Check It Out" and "Intergalactic" to an enthusiastic crowd delivering an epic set. R.I.P. Adam "MCA" Yauch. (Performance begins at the 4:45 minute mark.)

WORST: Ashlee Simpson — "La La"
Performing at the 2005 MMVAs, Jessica Simpson's little sister Ashlee reminded us more of a PG-rated Courtney Love than a teenybopper-turned-rock 'n' roll sexpot, which looks like what she was trying to go for.

BEST: Lady Gaga — "Love Game/Poker Face"
Recreating the subway scene from her "Love Game" music video, Lady Gaga performed two tracks from her album "The Fame" in 2009 and ended her set with one of the most memorable props that the MMVAs have ever seen, a flaming brassiere.
