Billy Idol agrees to play super fan Michael Henrichsen’s 26th birthday party

Veteran '80s rocker Billy Idol will make one lucky fan's dream come true on Friday, Oct. 26, when he will play the 26th birthday party of Michael Henrichsen, who started an online campaign to get the 56-year-old musician to join him at his shindig.

"This whole project stemmed from a conversation I had with a co-worker in October of 2010 right before my 24th birthday," Henrichsen writes on his website PlayMyBirthdayBillyIdol.com. "If someone asks me what my favorite hobby is it's going to a concert… To say I'm a fan of 80's music would be an understatement. I mean my mom did name me after the band INXS after all."

In addition to setting up a website asking Idol to attend his party, Henrichsen also acquired some celebrity endorsements from stars like The Beach Boys, Mark McGrath, Pauly Shore, former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, and many more, all asking Idol to appear at the birthday bash.

Henrichsen also started a series of charity concert events called "Billy Idol Aid," with proceeds and food donations going towards organizations like Northwest Harvest and the American Red Cross.

Last year, the "Rebel Yell" hitmaker finally took notice of "Billy Idol Aid 3" and left the super fan a video message praising the event's attendees for their support and cryptically saying, "Sorry I couldn't make your party this year, but who knows, there's always next year."

Fast-forward to August 2012, and not only did "Billy Idol Aid 4" raise $6,500 for charity, but the event also featured a new video message from Idol, in which he states that the will appear at Henrichsen's birthday party this Friday in Seattle at The Showbox SoDo.

Tickets for the event have sold out, and since Henrichsen also performs in an '80s cover band called Nite Wave, we hope that both Idol and the birthday boy will join forces on stage for what is sure to be a memorable evening.

Happy birthday, Mr. Henrichsen!
