Carly Rae Jepsen performs on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”

In the same fashion that he was first introduced to the American public, Justin Bieber had debuted his artist, Carly Rae Jepsen, on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Friday on "Ellen," the Mission, B.C., native (and "Canadian Idol" Season Five finalist) made her first U.S.A. television appearance singing her infectious pop song, "Call Me Maybe."

In a surprise appearance, the Biebs popped by the show to introduce Jepsen as "[his] artist" and the two reminisced about how she came to join the team at Schoolboy Records.

"Well, I had been signed in Canada to 604 Records," Jepsen told DeGeneres. "But, I had never branched outside of Canada and had no idea how to do that and then one miraculous day, Justin called."

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun said that finding Jepsen is something that the Canadian pop idol is proud of and never lets him forget about.

"He's now reminding me on a daily basis that he now has a good eye for talent," Braun said. "He's shown me stuff in the past and [I would say] 'I don't really know' or '[They have] a great voice but [are they] really a star?' And now, because he is responsible, solely, for showing me Carly, he is on a daily basis reminding me of how good of an [artists and repertoire representative] he is."

Adding Jepsen to the roster at Schoolboy Records seems to have more value than just the monetary incentive that usually follows the signing of new artists to major record labels. "Justin and I have always talked about finding different artists and using his platform to kind of pay it forward," Braun revealed to ET.

By tweeting about "Call Me Maybe" and posting a tribute video to the song starring himself and tween royalty like Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale, Bieber has definitely assisted in helping Jepsen rise to stardom.

However, the singer/songwriter could face a tough road ahead when it comes to likability within the female audience. But this is a test Jepsen will pass with flying colours, according to Braun.

"The ultimate test of if girls are going appreciate you and look up to you is [by] standing next to a Justin Bieber," Braun told ET. "Every female ever who [has] stood next to him has death threats and it's insane and they actually love her. There is no hate, there is just appreciation."
