Ohio University gives “Gangnam Style” a marching band remix

You know you've made it when a university marching band performs your song on game day.

From the opening sequence to the "invisible horse riding" dance break halfway through the clip, Ohio University's Marching 110's rendition of South Korean pop star PSY's viral hit "Gangnam Style" is fun to watch.

The performance took place on Saturday Sept. 22, during Ohio University's home football game against Norfolk State which had the audience singing along and dancing in the stands.

Posted only four days ago, the clip has gone on to reach viral status earning almost 3.5 million views with no signs of slowing down.

"Way better than the original," one viewer commented on the clip.

Wrote another: "Oh my God that was amazing! I wish my school would do this."

According to the Huffington Post, Marching 110 is known for incorporating popular tracks into their set lists and have previously performed hits like LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," which since it was posted on YouTube in Oct. 2011 has earned the marching band over 8.3 million views.

Released this past July, the official video for "Gangnam Style" has taken over the Internet with over 281 million views and has recently set the Guinness World Record for the most liked video on YouTube, currently with 2,817,591 likes.

Trailing behind "Gangnam Style" for most likes at press time is LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" (1,582,201 likes), Justin's Bieber's "Baby" (1,335,013 likes) and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (1,251,883 likes).

The track, which is about the Gangnam District's culture in Seoul and the trend of "spending to look wealthy," has even become a fitness routine in Richmond, B.C., and is inspiring a number of parodies that seem to be rivalling the level of popularity of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."
