Sam Roberts grants special wish for fan

It's not every day you get to meet a Canadian rock star.

On Tuesday night, Angie MacLean wanted to give her daughter the only present she asked for to celebrate her 15th birthday, to see the Sam Roberts Band in concert when they came to Charlottetown. However, the concert venue had stipulations that would prevent this birthday wish from coming true.

As CBC News reports, "When [MacLean] arrived at the concert venue, she was told by staff it was a 19 and older event only and her daughter couldn't go in."

This spurned MacLean to speak with the band's tour manager and work out an arrangement that would surpass her daughter's hope of seeing them live, a chance to have a private meet and greet with the entire band.

"She's had a pretty rough year, you know, this was something I really wanted to do for her," MacLean told CBC. "She was like, 'I want to see Sam Roberts,' and it still was a great night because Sam and the band made it that."

Even though her daughter's birthday wish was to see the band she calls her "idols" in concert, MacLean thinks that this experience was one that the two "will never forget."

"Sure we missed out on the show," MacLean admits. "But, it was so much more. And for me to see that, to just see her so happy, it made me feel so good."

In addition to meeting the band, the two were also given signed LP's of their newest album.
