100 guitar riffs in 12 minutes delivers “A Brief History of Rock N’ Roll”

In a viral video by the Chicago Music Exchange, guitarist Alex Chadwick covers almost 60 years of music from artists and bands like Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly to The Black Keys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in "100 Riffs (A Brief History of Rock N' Roll.)"

Playing a 1958 Fender Stratocaster and using a Fender '57 Reissue Tweed Deluxe amplifier, Chadwick is able to effortlessly maneuver his way through 100 tunes in one take weaving through classic rock songs and contemporary tracks.

Garnering almost 3.5 million views since its posting in June, viewers have really enjoyed the somewhat nostalgic clip and have left comments on it like, "This is the best video I've seen this summer," and "Greatest 12 minutes of my life!!!! AMAZING JOB!!!!"

Tracks featured in the video include Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water," Pink Floyd's "Money," The Beatles "Daytripper" and "Helter Skelter," Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown" and "Immigrant Song," Rush's "Spirit of Radio" and many more.

However, not everyone has been satisfied with the artists included in the clip and have also left notes like, "This is great but...where are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, KISS, Dokken, Manowar, Scorpions, Skid Row?" and, "Hey everyone! Turns out Bowie never existed! Nor Radiohead! And Nirvana did, but the Pixies didn't! Who knew???"
