Sarah McLachlan announces Vancouver music school charity concert “Voices In The Park”
Sarah McLachlan has announced her plans to host an all-star charity concert in support of The Sarah McLachlan School of Music called "Voices in the Park," in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

According to The Canadian Press, the concert will take place on Sept. 15 and for an $85 ticket price point, patrons will be able to see acts like Stevie Nicks, Jann Arden and Hedley take the stage with an added appearance by former U.S. president, Bill Clinton.
The Juno Award winner started the school in 2002 after the launch of the Sarah McLachlan Foundation (SMF) in 1999, with the added support of Arts Umbrella, "an organization internationally recognized as leaders in delivering arts education to young people."
The school targets at-risk students in Vancouver between Grades 4 and 12 and offers them free music classes in both classical and contemporary genres.

"When I was growing up, we had music in our schools," the Canadian songstress says on the school's website. "It was a given. These days many of these programs are not available. I don't know what I would have done without music in my life when I was growing up. I was unpopular and picked on, but for me, music was my refuge and solace — the one thing I knew I was good at; it fed me and kept me going."
The 44-year-old, who was recently announced as one of this year's inductees into Canada's Walk of Fame, has ventured into the world of charitable performing many times before and even co-founded and performed for the successful all female concert tour, Lilith Fair.
Kicking off her North American "Summer Symphony Orchestra Tour," McLachlan will visit Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre tomorrow.
