Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards saw "Wide Awake" singer Katy Perry wear a sparkly, flesh-toned outfit that left little to the imagination. She now joins other performers who have donned the nude look with strategically placed sparkles for major award show performances like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.

Britney Spears
Proving that she was "not that innocent," former Mouseketeer Britney Spears performed at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards causing quite the controversial stir when she ripped off her black tuxedo revealing a nude two-piece outfit.
The singer, who performed a medley of the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and her hit "Oops!... I Did It Again," spoke of the event in an episode of MTV's "The Diary of…", saying, "[That] performance was a lot of fun. It was my first time to really just do my thing and express myself. I honestly had no idea it was going to be such a big deal with what I had on. I just wanted to be really sparkly and pretty with my outfit underneath."

She also said, "People thought that you could see through it, but you couldn't. I still don't see what the big deal was."
Jennifer Lopez
Beginning her performance completely covered up and singing her sentimental ballad "Until It Beats No More," multifaceted performer Jennifer Lopez fooled the audience into thinking she was about to have another breakdown at the top of her 2011 American Music Awards routine.

Instead, the "American Idol" judge stripped off her dress revealing a shorter fringed frock for her "Papi" number and subsequently stripped again down to a sparkly nude onesie for her final song, "On The Floor."

During Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards, "Teenage Dream" singer Katy Perry performed her new hit "Wide Awake" to an outdoor audience at Toronto's biggest block party.

Beginning her performance wrapped up in a pair of beautiful butterfly wings, Perry was re-born onstage in a nude and crystal encrusted ensemble that she didn't even have time to change out of before having to go back out onstage to accept an award.
While receiving the MMVA for UR FAVE International Artist, Perry addressed the crowd, saying, "I had no idea that I was going to win an award after I performed or I would have put on more clothes."
After analyzing all of the above performances, we give the "Best Nude and Sparkly Performance Award" to Britney Spears for pushing the limits back in 2000.
