One Direction can make a grown man cry: Father sheds tears after daughter meets band

It's not just teenage girls who sob over their favourite band.

A father from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia named Anthony Lee, broke down in tears after seeing the joy his daughter, Catie-Rose, exhibited upon meeting teen heartthrobs One Direction for the first time.

According to NineMSN, the dad and daughter pair waited for three hours for the band to come outside after a photo shoot in Brisbane and were not disappointed when the sweet UK boys came over to greet the waiting fans.

When asked why he was so emotional right after the encounter, the father of six said, "Just to see her happy because she tried so hard."

Lee later told Australian television show, "TODAY," "I've been [there with her] every step of the way for two years. It's been a long journey and a hard journey. We've tried everything, every competition, you name it, we've been there and done it and I've helped her through it and [Wednesday] was just the icing on the cake. We never got tickets to the show but she got the best thing, [which was] a hug from Harry and autographs from all the boys and it was just magic."

Dubbing him "Brisbane's Best Dad," "TODAY" made the day even grander by offering Lee and Catie-Rose tickets to One Direction's next Australian gig, which again, made the duo weep with happiness.

For those who aren't familiar with the British boy band, One Direction is composed of five guys, Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayne. After placing third in the seventh season of 'The X Factor," they signed onto Simon Cowell's record label and later signed to Columbia Records.
